A+ Certification

The A+ certification is a vendor-neutral certification system for computer systems with an emphasis on desktops. To get your certification you must pass tow exams that prove you’re an expert on installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing desktop computers, including working knowledge of a variety of operating systems.

A+ certification is probably the most prevalent computer-related standard out there, and is typically required of people working in a variety of computer service positions. It’s recognized by nearly every employer and serves as a good baseline measure of your skill in IT environments, as far as securing an entry level job.

While A+ certifications are a completely different beast than the Cisco certificates, they’re slightly related in that many people start off with an A+ certificate and slowly work their up to more advanced Cisco certifications in specialized fields.
