What are MCSE requirements?
There are seven examinations that a candidate has to pass to obtain MCSE certification. MCSE exams can be taken in any order.
Among these exams,
- One exam is optional whose further choices are given just after the candidate becomes able to take the examination.
- One exam is from client operation system although it is up to you to choice among the following ones:
- Exam 70-620 or else configuration of windows vista client. You can take this exam in elective or else in client operating system. You can’t take it in both cases.
- Exam 70-210 or else configuration, installation and administration of windows 2000. By the way, this exam is not used now but if a candidate has already passed it then it is considered applicable in certification.
- Exam 70-270 for configuration, installation as well as administration of windows XP professional
- One exam is related to designing and it also depends on the option you will choose among the following:
- Exam 70-297 for designing windows server 2003 network infrastructure along with the active directory. You can choose it in either elective or in client operating system, not in both.
- Exam 70-298 or designing security for windows 2003 server network. In this way, you can select this exam either in elective or in client operating system.
- Finally other four exams come from networking systems and are all obligatory which include the following:
- Exam 70-290 focusing on managing as well as maintaining windows server 2003 environment
- Exam 70-291 for the development, administration of windows server 2003 network infrastructure
- Exam 70-293 useful to plan and supervise windows server 2003 network infrastructure
- Exam 70-294 for planning, employing and maintaining windows server 2003 active directory infrastructure
Keep in mind that the elective exams are normally selected from the provided list at the time of making an attempt for examination.
